Warranty Coverage

OEPOXY (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Company”) warrants that epoxy flooring systems installed by our certified technicians will be free from material defects and workmanship errors that result in premature failure for a period of three (3) years from the date of completed installation.

What Is Covered

This warranty covers the following defects when they occur under normal use conditions:

Material Defects:

  • Manufacturing defects in epoxy materials supplied by OEPOXY
  • Premature delamination due to material failure
  • Adhesion failure caused by defective products

Workmanship Issues:

  • Improper surface preparation by OEPOXY technicians
  • Incorrect mixing ratios during application
  • Application errors resulting in poor adhesion
  • Peeling or blistering due to installation mistakes
  • Premature wear patterns caused by improper application techniques

Remedy and Resolution

If a valid warranty claim is accepted, OEPOXY will, at our sole discretion:

  • Repair the affected area using matching materials and techniques
  • Re-coat the affected section to restore functionality
  • Replace the entire floor system if the whole floor is affected

Important: Repairs will be completed using the closest possible colour and texture match to the original installation. Perfect colour matching cannot be guaranteed due to variations in batches, aging, and environmental factors.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty DOES NOT cover damage, deterioration, or failure resulting from:

Normal Wear and Environmental Factors

  • Hot tyre marks or burns from vehicle tyres, motorcycles, or hot objects
  • UV fading, chalking, or colour changes due to sunlight exposure
  • Normal wear patterns from regular foot traffic and use
  • Surface scratches from furniture, equipment, or normal use
  • Staining that can be removed with approved cleaning methods

Chemical and Physical Damage

  • Chemical exposure including but not limited to:
    • Battery acid from vehicles or equipment
    • Solvents, paint thinners, or harsh chemicals
    • De-icing salts or road chemicals
    • Pool chemicals or cleaning products not approved by OEPOXY
  • Physical impact damage from:
    • Dropped tools, equipment, or heavy objects
    • Metal furniture legs without protective pads
    • Motorcycle kickstands or studded tyres
    • Renovation work or construction activities

Substrate and Environmental Issues

  • Concrete substrate problems including:
    • Cracking, settlement, or movement of the concrete slab
    • Moisture vapour transmission or hydrostatic pressure
    • Weak or contaminated concrete not disclosed during assessment
    • Structural defects in the building or slab
  • Environmental conditions:
    • Flooding, storms, hail, or other weather events
    • Earthquake damage or ground movement
    • Fire, smoke, or explosion damage

Maintenance and Care Issues

  • Improper cleaning including:
    • Use of harsh chemicals, acids, or abrasive cleaners
    • Steam cleaning or high-pressure washing
    • Failure to clean spills promptly
    • Use of metal scrubbers or abrasive tools
  • Neglect or misuse:
    • Failure to follow recommended maintenance procedures
    • Allowing standing water or moisture accumulation
    • Using the floor for purposes beyond its intended design

Third-Party Work

  • Damage caused by other contractors or tradespeople
  • Modifications or repairs attempted by unauthorised persons
  • Installation of incompatible products over the epoxy system

Warranty Conditions and Requirements

Maintenance Obligations

To maintain warranty coverage, you must:

  • Clean regularly with pH-neutral cleaners and soft brushes only
  • Remove spills immediately to prevent staining or damage
  • Inspect quarterly and report any concerns promptly
  • Use protective pads under furniture and equipment legs
  • Maintain proper ventilation to prevent moisture accumulation
  • Follow all care instructions provided by OEPOXY

Environmental Conditions

This warranty applies only when the installation environment meets these criteria:

  • Temperature range: 10°C to 30°C during and after installation
  • Humidity levels: Below 85% relative humidity
  • Adequate ventilation maintained throughout the warranty period
  • Proper drainage to prevent water pooling or accumulation

Usage Limitations

The warranty is valid for the intended use category specified in your quote:

  • Residential: Light foot traffic, occasional vehicle use
  • Light Commercial: Moderate foot traffic, minimal vehicle access
  • Industrial: Heavy-duty applications as specified in project documentation

Warranty Claims Process

Notification Requirements

To make a warranty claim, you must:

  1. Contact OEPOXY within 30 days of discovering the defect
  2. Provide written notice via email to warranty@oepoxy.com.au including:
    • Original invoice and warranty certificate
    • Clear photographs of the defect from multiple angles
    • Description of when and how the issue was discovered
    • Details of any recent activities that may have contributed to the problem

Inspection and Assessment

Upon receiving your claim:

  • OEPOXY will schedule an inspection within 14 business days
  • Our technician will assess the defect and determine warranty coverage
  • You must provide reasonable access for inspection and testing
  • We may require samples or additional testing to determine the cause

Claim Resolution

If your claim is approved:

  • Repairs will be scheduled within 30 days of approval
  • Work will be completed during normal business hours
  • You must provide clear access to the affected area
  • Repairs are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period only

Warranty Limitations

Liability Limitations

OEPOXY’s total liability under this warranty is limited to:

  • The original purchase price of the affected flooring system
  • Repair or replacement of defective materials and workmanship
  • No coverage for consequential damages, lost time, or inconvenience

No Other Warranties

This warranty:

  • Replaces all other warranties, express or implied
  • Cannot be modified except in writing signed by OEPOXY management
  • Is not transferable to subsequent property owners
  • Applies only to the original purchaser at the original installation address

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation that cannot be lawfully excluded.

Care and Maintenance Guidelines

Daily Care

  • Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and debris
  • Clean spills immediately with a damp cloth
  • Use entrance mats to reduce tracked-in contaminants
  • Avoid dragging heavy items across the surface

Weekly Cleaning

  • Damp mop with clean water and pH-neutral cleaner
  • Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots
  • Check for damage and report issues promptly

Approved Cleaning Products

Safe to use:

  • Mild dish soap diluted in warm water
  • pH-neutral floor cleaners
  • Microfibre mops and cloths

Never use:

  • Bleach, ammonia, or acid-based cleaners
  • Abrasive scrubbers or steel wool
  • Steam cleaners or high-pressure washers
  • Wax or polish products

Protection Measures

  • Install felt pads under furniture legs
  • Use mats in high-traffic areas
  • Control temperature and humidity where possible
  • Provide adequate lighting to spot potential issues early
